Spooner Market & Grill, a new family-friendly restaurant, recently opened at 110 Walnut St. in Spooner, offering fresh, interesting foods, beer, and wine. A non-smoking environment, a children’s area, and kids’ menu items are also provided. And, say owners Betsy Helgesen and Joel Weiner (pictured with daughter Evelyn, 2), “We have a wonderful selection of kitchen items sure to please novice and gourmet cooks alike.” The new business was recently welcomed to the local business community by the Spooner Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee, with Storme Nelson of Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary (at right) presenting the “First Dollar of Clear Profit.” The restaurant can be contacted by calling 635-6833 or emailing
